📣 ARC x IDFA CP3 Africa Delegation 2024 📣

DocA, in conjunction with Africa Real Collective and in partnership with the IDFA Bertha Fund, is excited to invite eligible directors and producers from across the African continent to join the Africa Delegation at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) 2024.

This marks the second year of the Africa Delegation’s participation, stemming from this esteemed collaboration and partnership. Therefore we would like to officially launch an open call for applications to:

Directors

• who are currently working on a project in development or production

• who are ready to engage with the international documentary world (not completely new directors, but those who have produced at least a few short films)

• who might be eligible to join the idfacademy (for filmmakers working on their 1st or 2nd feature-length documentaries) or can be more experienced directors

• Language Proficiency: Ability to understand English is preferred to maximise the benefits of IDFA. However, we recognize the challenge this poses and do not wish to exclude talented directors based on language alone.

Producers

• who have at least one active project in production

• who are somewhat experienced and not complete beginners

• who might be able to join the IDFA Forum as an observer and/or will be guided by a very experienced producer (who can speak both English and French)

• Language Proficiency: Ability to understand English is preferred to maximise the benefits of IDFA. However, we recognize the challenge this poses and do not wish to exclude talented producers based on language alone.
